About

Mark & Mardi

Mark Weber- Photographer
Mark started in photography in the early 70’s – as a yearbook photographer in high school. He attended Rhode Island School of photography and graduated in 1975. He was chosen to be a staff assistant at the Winona School of Professional Photography following graduation. In the fall of 1975 Mark was hired as a photographer for Wichers. Shortly after joining Wichers the studio was sold and Mark moved to Wichita to continue his portrait work. After 12 years in several leading studios in Wichita, Mark returned to Topeka and purchased Wichers in 1987. In 1988 Mark earned the Master of Photography degree from the Professional photographers of America. In 1993 Mark served as president of the Kansas Professional Photographers (KPPA) and the Topeka Professional Photographers (TPPA). In 1996, Mark earned the photographic Craftsman degree from the Professional Photographers of America. Mark has served on the board of Directors of the Wichita, Topeka, Kansas, Kansas School and the Certified Professional Photographers groups. Mark has received the Special Award from the KPPA and the National Award from the Professional Photographers Association.  In 2004 Mark was awarded the Life Membership from the KPPA. This is their highest award. He has truly been there and done that in photography in Kansas. Mark’s passion in life is his water-skiing. An avid barefoot skier Mark ski’s all summer long. In 2013 Mark bought a twin rig after tearing out the pylon on his inboard boat twice. He is the main boat driver for the Rough Water Warriors and mainly drives the twinrig. When he is not photographing or skiing you will almost always find Mark at a computer screen.
In 2025 after 50 years in photography Mark and Mardi are selling the studio and building and going on the road.
